strange noise

[:@] i have noticed a strange noise at 2- 3000 rpm from the top of the engine ,and was told it was the shims, any other theories,because its damn annoying

yeah it's probably valves or cam chain if the noise is atapping noise. if not tell me because i'm having same trouble and i'm getting ready to have them done.

like a chain slappin around?that would be your cct
if its like a clicking noise,valves

when do you need your valves checked? my 929 i just got has 12,000 mi. but had a tap from the block right at my left knee if i'm sitting on the bike... this is a valve isn;t it???
