I just picked up my winter project. 2000 929 with front end damage. I'm removing the front forks and cannot get the last upper nut on the stem to back off. Is it a backward thread? Or is there a trick I don't know about. I will be needing a whole bunch parts, so hopefully they are readily available. I did a search and couldn't find anything on parts interchanging? Is there a specific thread for this? I've torn down a few first and second gen gixxers and look forward to building this bike. It seems quite a bit more complex the anything I've worked on.
