sputters at low rpms please help
I just reacently bought a 01 929 erion in minnesota and brought it back to texas and it has about 22000 miles on it. It use to start up in the morning and run at about 2000 rpms untill it got warmed up then it quit doing that and now when i go to start out it sputters really bad untill i hit about 3 grand then its fine. I bought a new set of plugs and im going to put them in tomorrow any other ideas?

RE: sputters at low rpms please help
does it still have the airbox flap and exhaust valve? are they working properly? if either is removed or working improperly it will lug real bad at low rpm...those are the first things i would check, does it only do that when its cold? my bike doesnt do well at low rpms til its warmed up anyways but def. check those things.

RE: sputters at low rpms please help
45,000 miles...ive had to fix alot of crap. If you reach/look on the left side of the bike just behind the frame is the servo. On the bottom of the servo are 4 cables on a wheel that spins. If you find it, start the bike, put you finger on the bottom of the servo and give the bike a good rev with your other hand, you should feel a rotation there. If you have trouble finding the servo just follow the cables from your exhaust valve to it. As far as stuff ive fixed i couldnt remember everything. The ecm, 1 servo, the solder inside of the kill switch came lose and the wires came half disconnected which made the bike cut out, ive had stripped out spark plug wire holes, 1 cam chain and 1 cam chain tensioner, i also have done a basic engine overhaul at about 35,000 miles, 2 shift forks and 2 gears in the transmission, 1 clutch set, been through 1 set of front brake rotors. The list goes on and on and on. The only reason i did the engine rebuild was from a bent shift fork that was causing me problems with 2nd gear. I figured since i had the engine out of the bike for the transmission and i was showing just a bit of wear on the crank bearings i figured it wouldnt hurt to just do new bearings and rings and shiznit. I know ive fixed other things but i cant recall everything. If you have any other problems let me know, ive been through a mess of **** with this bike.
