please help, changed clutch bike wont start! :[
 

:icon_doh:i changed my clutch on my 929, and at the same time not thinking, i ran about 2oz of fuel injector and upper cylinder lubricant. the bike did not start after this, yet i started it three times before that day. I drained the old gas out, put in new gas,i changed the spark plugs, cleanded out throttle bodies,band i ordered a new cam posit. pulse generator sensor thing and installed it yesterday thinking that it could have been damaged when i did the clutch job. the old one seemed fine however. the bike turns over but wont start. i dont have an o2 sensor hooked up, idk if that will make a diff but it ran w/o it before. I have an oil light and a fuel injection light on. if i give it gas as im trying to start it it sounds like a deeper sound as its trying to start.

IDk whats wrong im a freshman in college and am doing this bike as a project i bought practically everything for it so if someone could please help me out id really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does your full pump prime? On your cam pulse generator did you install it backwards?(Not trying to be a dick but when I replaced my cover with a chrome one I installed it backwards and it wouldnt start)......

The deep sound is normal, it's just from less restriction in the intake so you hear more. The oil light is odd, I won't ask if you have oil in it, but without the oil pressure switch being triggered you maybe won't get fuel. I'm off on vacation, so I can't check the wiring diagram to be sure, so find the oil oil pressure sensor and trace the wires. It will probably have one go to ground and the other go to the ECU. If it does, than it's a resistance based thing where (most likely) disconnecting it will cause the bike not to run. You could possibly disconnect it and short the wires, but only if you are positive there is oil in it AND your oil pump is working properly. So check your manual to be sure the oil pump couldn't have become mechanically disconnected before trying to short the sensor. Lastly, I haven't had to deal with the clutch or oil system on my 929 as of yet, so this is all based on experience with previous bikes and cars/trucks.

Yes there is oil in the bike!! and yes, the fuel pump primes.

what exactly is the oil pressure switch and sensor? also, i put the sensor in the right way.

after some engine work my buddys 929 would not fire and he went nuts for a week tryin to get it to run, we disconnected the battery and reconnected and it fired off and has run solid for 6 months. if the fuel pump is running , it should be gettin fuel(is your petcock in the on position?)if it is gettin fuel, then check for fire at the plugs(i use a simple timing light). good luck brother-hope this helps

Im an idiot, the damn sensor was in upside down!!

Which sensor? the cam pulse sensor?????

yea it was in wrong so the magnet was missing the gear so it wouldnt start. so i just flipped her around and it started right up.
