Rotella is great for them, 3.8 quarts.

Stock air filter flows fine but if you want a reusable one, k+n and bmc make them.

20-50 is for the bigger twins. too thick for a sportbike. stick with 10w-40, and depending on the milage, i would even go with a synthetic. I swear by good ole honda brand HP4S full syn 10w-40 for any litre bike. its really up to your own personal preference, but i will tell you one thing. dont let the nay-sayers dissuade you. Full Synthetic oil is always going to be a better choice for a high performance application, no matter the miles/previous oils used. there are those that will say that if its not run through with full syn from day one, then its not worth it, but thats like someone telling you that you shouldnt quit smoking because all of the damage is already done. make sure whatever oil you choose is labeled as "wet-clutch safe" or "without moly", or else it will cause your clutch to slip. as far as air filters are concerned, stay away from K&N. for the money, BMC is much better, but those are reserved for heavily modified bikes due to how free flowing they are. K&N is actually proven that they are more restrictive than stock. if you want it for the washability, then go with the bike master brand. thats what i have run on my 929 and i cant complain.

It's under the fuel tank. The cover is held down with a gazillion screws. It helps to have a screwdriver that is a bit longer for the two center ones.
