ok i was looking on ebay and found this motorcycle forsale but it just doesnt make any sense, its sounds stolen to me but thats because i know that a 95 and an 01 dont share may parts that can be swapped out besides a clean vin#

Well I don't know what the deal is with the bike but can tell you that when I had my '95 cbr 900rr a buddy had a wrecked '00 cbr 929rr that I took alot of parts off of to put on the 900

 

I asked him for the VIN, if he gives it up I'll run it and let you guys know what shows.

lol it says hot bikes on that tail prob is a REAL hot bike i personally dont like to mess with bikes that have polished frames esp if they polished any where near the vin i dont even look at it prob stamped

 

Im sure if he gives up the vin it will probally come back as a clean 95 cbr 900rr but its not a 95 cbr 900rr frame and you cant tell for sure but it looks like a 929 motor with a billet stator cover


now im sure you probally could swap some minor goodies from a 95 to a 00 but this is extreme just from the pic i can see

swingarm, wheels, (id like to have the 5 spoke on my 929 but thats just my opinion) fairings, frame and sub frame, headlight tank and appears to have even the 929's gas tank, seats and guage cluster.

now the 929 and 900rr motors and frame are not compatable

maybe thats why i dont trust it!

but i believe the bike is stollen and i believe the guy selling it is purposely trying to get over on someone less intellegent than us and he should be punished

 

He gave me a 16 digit vin, one short. I asked for the full vin or a pic of it off the title, he responded quick so we'll see.

 

even if you get a complete vin its still going to come back as a 95 900rras he stated buts its not, its a 929

 

It shows as a 1995 dual-sport and has one "important record" but I'm not paying $30 to check what it is. If somebody wants the VIN let me know. My guess is it will show it's a salvage title, probably using the vin to sell a stolen bike.
