Default New to forum, wiring problems

Hello everyone, ten years ago I built a lotus super seven or caterham replica. For power I used a 2000 Honda cbr 929 fire blade engine. Unfortunately after ten years of bulletproof service I picked up a dead short in the wiring harness that we can't seem to find, I am in search of a complete undamaged harness. Any help would be appreciated, I think the 2002 and up doesn't work or am I wrong? Thanks in advance.

You are correct. Only 2000 and 2001 will work.

How do you know the short is n the harness since you can't find it?

Gee, thanks for the quick acceptance and the quick reply good question. Originally when I installed it it went in smoothly but we cut and hacked. So now, it began by blowing a fuse, replaced it, when a few days, blew fuse again, replaced it and it appeared to have shorted out fuel pump. Replaced fuel pump, new fuse, car starts drive around block, shut off car will not restart, this time dash doesn't even light up. Check fuses, all good, check fuel pump, it's good. Shake harness, relay is heard clicking. This is all being done by a mechanic who races stretched hayabusa's this fellow is pretty sharp. Stumped and looking to start fresh. Any advise is more than appreciated.

Since it's been hacked up, I would start by looking at all the hacked places.

Thanks, good advise, we tried that and came up empty. Main hack was the tip over switch and the kickstand switch, it's very strange. Ignition switch works, Ecu, was good, fuel pump, etc. Looking for a fresh start.

There's a break wherever you are moving the harness and hear the clicks then. Take the hacked pieces apart, you may end up with worse issues on an old harness anyway.
