Wow. That's a clean 636. Those were new when I was in high school and I remember going to the dealerships and drooling over them.

Did it need any work? I've been scouring the internet for a picture of an 03 04 636 without the tank to see how tall the airbox sits above the frame. I was wondering if you had any pictures by chance.

Yeah, on the off-chance you have one. I've found a couple of newer ones, but none from the 03 04 generation. Is it a taller airbox? Or a shorter one like the 954's?

I will take pic and post with in the next day or two. Pretty sure I have a couple extra air boxes if you need one.

I think the top of the lid is above the frame a little bit. I will see and post pics.

Wow, that'd be really helpful, but don't go out of your way, I was curious to see if the dimensions were similar is all. I don't need an airbox, but I was wondering how tall it sits because of my fighter. I ran into a symmetry issue on my gixxer tank. I saw your bike, the tank looked like it sits similar to the gixxer's tank, and the frame rails on the 636 look similar to the 954's. The best thing is that the mounting plate on the front bolts on, which means I wouldn't need to weld anything.

Oh, and the gixxer and 636 use the same fuel pump (which I already have), and the 636 tank is cheaper than the gixxer's on avg.

The double r version had secondary injection, and they both used the same tank, so I think that, minus the ecu sitting on top of the airbox, it *should* have a similar fit to the gixxer tank that I need for my bike....

I'm thinking about taking a gamble on it....
