My CBR 929rr FI light is flashing a code 34
My 929's FI light had come on a while back, and i stopped riding it so i wouldnt cause any damage if there was some already. It still drives fine, but its throwing a code 34, which i read in the manual is 3 long flashes and 4 quick flashes. And I want to take it to the shop to be fixed, but i dont want to be charged an outragous fee to fix it. Can anyone tell me what they think. Plus while it has been parked, i did replace the air filter with a K&N filter, and it seems to idle high for a moment then lower down now. Did i do something wrong, or miss something??

The service manual states that code 34 is a "Faulty EGCV and air intake valve servo motor potentio meter voltage" Refer to page 5-52 in the service manual.
Page 5-52 basically says:
Check your air intake valve servo motor for loose connections. If it still throws a code, check the resistance of the terminals on the servo motor which should be 5k Ohms. If its not you got a bad motor.
Even if the motor is bad or just has a loose connection your bike should still run fine, although you might have a slight loss of horsepower in the upper rpm range.

OK, the shop is telling me to buy a new servo motor that costs 700, or replace my exhaust system all together which bypasses the servo motor. But ive been reading on here, and it seems that there are ways of bypassing the servo, and being able to position the htev valve to the open positiion, which will fix the problem, and i wont have to buy either the new servo or the exhaust system???? Any help!!!

I think ill just install the new servo, and hopefully that will be it.. But when i told the shop i had ordered one on ebay, and gonna install it myself, and they were trying to warn me not to, saying i had to sync it in.. is that true? and would my FI light automatically reset, or will i have to sync the servo, and reset the fi light as well?
