Default moto gp pipe

my winter project is to get rid of that oversized can on an otherwise great looking bike and install a moto gp style slip on.I want the exhaust to end about 6 inches behind my foot peg.Looking at my midpipe, how it goes 4-2-1, it's definetly too long to make this happen. This leaves me two options-get rid of the midpipe alltogether, or try to shorten it somehow(remove the htev valve without a hass eliminator). looks to me like if u totally remove the htev valve, the midpipe would have the wrong bends to just attatch to the header and would probably hit the bottom of the engine. Was wondering if anyone has done this type of mod or attempted it. I have plenty of time to do this and would like to use a voodoo type slip on because that is exactly the look i want to end up with. I know the easy way out would be to remove the headers and run a full system, but where's the challenge in that!!!!(ok it's expensive). Any help?

None yet, it a project im doing on my 954 as well this winter. Im going with a hass eliminator, then having a shop make a short custom pipe that i can plumb into a really short can (like a gsxr can) then just going to point it up and out the side slightly angled.

Dude that sounds pretty ****ing cool. Good luck. I'd like to do that but don't have the knowledge to do so or the budget right now. Maybe some day.

I think you ppl need too look at wtf a gp exhaust really is. It IS NOT a exhaust tip looking thing we seen on here or ebay. Now if that what you want fine, but thats not even close to wtf is on a gp bike nor what it looks like.

Looks good, but I prefer the more stealthy look, I think if your going to have them pipes you might as well have a regular can on their!
