i need help picking a type of tire
I am shopping around for tires for my 00 929 and i am between 5 different tires one of them is (maxxis) Supermaxx M6029 Radial Tires, (Dunlop) Sportmax GP Tires, (Dunlop) Qualifier Performance Radial Tires, (Dunlop) Elite 3 Radial Touring Tires, Or (Continental) Road Attack Sport Mileage Radial Tires
I am also trying to decide 180 or 190's for the rear tire right now i have 180's and they are great but what is the big difference that a lot of people are telling me to go to a 190. i am new to the motorcycle world,
Thank You
Joe

Haven't ridden on Qualies yet, though I have a pair sitting in my house at the moment.....they feel super sticky judging by the fingernail test.
I will say stay away from the Maxxis. I didn't find them to be particularly grippy even when warm and the mileage I got wasn't that impressive. Not an ideal choice, IMO.

hey ..
I can't comment on any of the tires you have. I am running BT014s and when they go, moving to Sportec M3s. Both are in the same category as the Qualifiers, consider them sport-road tires.
If you are new to riding, then these are a good choice on the 929 and I would suggest that you go with a 190 rear. The 190 will give you a little more stability and assurance at the rear, which you may be grateful for. The 180 will give slightly quicker turn-in and a little less stability, which is great for track work but not always what you may be after on the street.
Also, make sure you are running the right pressure and, if you can, get your suspension tuned. It will make a world of difference to your riding enjoyment and safety.

I think you'll like those Metzelers. americanmototire.com seems to have really good pricing for those.

I'd go with the qualifiers and if you like a quicker turn in go with the 180. The 190 will make you have to force the bike into a corner alittle more and it is noticable. Have you thought about the pilot powers? I've ran those for the past two years and love them both on and off the track.

+1 on the pilot powers thats all ive rode with but they are great not too sure about the diff between 180 and 190 i have always had 180 but thinkin about going 190 to fatten the rear up a little more im a bigger guy 5'11' 220 so i think the size diff wont matter too much
