I love my 929 wish I had another one. If you found one see if it has a steering damper (stabilizer) on it these things are notorious for tank slappers, and a damper runs 350 to 600 bucks. good luck

If your suspension is set correctly you shouldn't have any problems with tank slappers. My 929 has been great. plenty of power, and it rails through the corners.

I definitely agree with that - buy the bike and ride it before you go for the damper. Mine is super stable , but I do hear an awful lot of guys complaining about shaking and tank slappers - they can't all be wrong. I've often wondered if some bikes had some sort of factory defect, no kidding. Doesn't seem right that some of us are on rails while other guys are rattling around - I'd love to get to the bottom of this. A steering damper would look cool on mine, but I sure don't need one.
And I'm not bragging - I feel genuinely sorry for guys who's bikes have this problem. Wish Honda would get involved.

buy it. definately. thats what i'm riding and i love it. wouldnt trade it up for the world... heaps of over the top power with the the most insane agaility. the bike loves the twisties and just begs to be opened up... screamer with a nice pipe. i havent got a steering damper either but hyave heard ALOT of people saying their important. its made me want one. i'd rather buy a damper without experiencing the notorious tank slapper then getting afterwards out of fear.

beautiful bike, very precise, sharp and destructive machine.

great bike. if your lite weight youll want the dampner. top of second gear and wheel shake is not good. dampner takes care of it easily.

blades dont need dampenders usually, the problem with the loose front can be sorted by tightening the head stem bearings. I dropped my forks 5mm through the clamps and tightened the head bearing and the thing is brilliant now.

try it out.

I have seen alot of guys on the 929 without a damper and I personally have never had a slapper but I love this steering damper ecspecially for stoppies crank it down and roll it out. Plus it was free ha ha. but if you have a chance to get a 929 I would not pass it up.

If you can get it for a decent price, go for it! My 929 is way more fun than the 2k gixxer 600 I had. Lots more agile and the power is surely a plus. It's been more of a pain to work on than the gsxr, but I deal with it. First night I had it I went wot in 2nd and the front end got real light with just a hint of vibration. I just had to buy the mounting bracket for my Scotts though and there have been no doubts with the front end since even when the front comes down a little crooked.
