Default Help me decide which bike?

I've got two leads on 929's around here and I'm kind of torn on them between money, maintenance, and mileage.

A) Has 24k miles, white/red/black, has had the fuel pressure regulator replaced, chain & sprockets replaced, 75% tread on tires, 2 owners, and has probably been serviced regularly. Second owner bought it with 19k on the clock and knew the first owner. Original owners dad owns a Polaris dealership so I'm guessing the bike was probably maintained to a degree. Second owner has had the oil changed four times since he's owned it. Says he'll have it serviced before he sells. Don't know if the valves have been inspected/serviced. Says it runs great and hasn't had any trouble with the HTEV servo. Has a Jardine RT-One can. He's asking $3000 but would probably take $2800-$2900.

B) Has 16k miles, yellow/black, is stock, one owner and that's about all I've gotten on it so far. The owner is asking $4000 but I might be able to get him to take $3750-3800.

I'm kind of torn on both as I just want to ride and not maintain. I've spent the last three years building a Sportster and finally the toying around got to be more work than fun. I rode the snot out of it when I could but the dollar per horsepower was getting out of hand too. I finally realized I was just trying to build a Buell and should have just bought one of those in the first place.

But I digress.

The main thing I'm worried about is getting either of these, coming home, and then within the next month or two having to replace a cam chain tensioner or go trying to source a bloody HTEV servo motor or spending a weekend shimming some valves back into specs and the one with 16k on the clock will be needing looked at. I'm completely competent and capable with the tools but not in the mood to do maintenance in depth for a bit if you know what I mean. However, there's miles versus money too. Is a thousand dollars worth 8 thousand miles?

Thanks for all the help in advance!!

Get the one with the history imo. 24k is not that many miles. And it's better to know where it's been than to take one that possibly has never had the oil changed. If the one owner can't give you history, then he's most likely not really into his bike, or he doesn't want to tell you the history because it's bad. Plus, I don't like the yellow/black color combo as much.

I'm picking up the "A" bike on Saturday. Click on the pics for a bigger size.
