Default HELP with headlights..brights work but not dim?!?

Ok...I noticed today riding around that my headlight wasn't on. I I switched to bright and my brights came on. So, I figured the bulb was bad. Went to Advance to pick up a bulb(s) for extra and installed it. Again, all brights but still no dim headlight. Ok, I figured, its just 20amp fuse. Nope, i was wrong again. So, being the skilled electrician I am I trouble shot. First checked the volts to the light connector, 0 volts. Second, the volts coming thru the fuse....NOTHING. The wierd thing is that everything else works, I mean everything except the running/middle/dim headlight. I thought it could have been fro mthe undertail install because my undertail works fine. So, it's a wiring problem somewhere and its BEFORE it hits the fuse box. Please someone tell me that this is a common problem and is a easy repair. I need some help/advice.

It may be the actually headlight plug. Check to see if you are getting any power there.

Check for continuity in the wires. You have to verify that the wires can handle a current first, before it is just accepted that nothing is at the fuse. Obviously there is something that is not providing power to the fuse. Where is this problem (ponder only). Have you looked at the wiring diagram from the service manual and traced all wires?
