Helmet Hooks
Hey Guys,
I have a stupid newbie question although I'm not a newbie just a newbie to this. How do you attach a helmet to those prongs coming out of the rear cowl fairing on our bike? Where on the helmet do you attach it to the prongs on the bike? There's one on each side below the passenger seat. I see guys all the time with their helmet attached to the side of their bike and I'm like how do they do it? I'm just a retard I can't figure it out..Lol... Thanks |
Just take the d ring that is attached to the chin strap and slide it over the end of the hook then slide it around the curve and up the straight part towards the bottom of the seat. Have the helmet beside the tail section with the chin strap running out through the gap between seat and tail section. close the seat.

Just to add to Hooligan, make sure that the hook you attach your helmet too is UNDER your seat. You have to open the trunk to see it. It's on the left underside of the rear seat. The two prongs you are talking about aren't for hanging your helmet.
Also, don't EVER ride around with your helmet on the bike while you don't have one on your head. There is not a faster way to look like a squid. Be careful out there! |
Really.. what are those two "Frankenstein" prongs for anyway? I kind of thought they weren't b/c I couldn't see how you could attach a helmet to them. Makes a lot of sense now. Thanks guys...

I believe the two prongs are there so you can attach a bungee net on your tail section to hold onto light cargo like a sweatshirt or somethin. Im not sure thats just my guess. I never used mine so I replaced them with a couple button head socket cap screws so they wouldnt be stickin out.
