RE: Green Light trigger?!?!?

scam has been the consensus on the other boards I frequent.

If you think about what the sensor picks to trigger the green light it could be:
- a magentic field
- weight
- visual

The red light tripper could only work for the electro magnetic type... and to make a field big enough to work would take a pretty serious magnet. It shouldn't make the bike noticably heavier ;) nor wider/longer ;)

The end result of the discussion was:

- if it is a light you frequently have problems with, report it. They can usually adjust them

- if you're all alone and it won't switch, either make a right turn and turn around at the next oppertunity, or run it. If you are at a complete stop, look around carefully, and then proceed you'd be very unlucky to get pulled over. If you did you have an explanation, and can demostrate the problem for them by simply trying to trigger it yourself.

- Avoid problem lights if they won't adjust them. (I haven't had this problem - the one next to my house was fixed a week after I moved in)

- Some people claim that starting the bike makes a bigger magnetic field and triggers the lights. I dunno. It didn't work for me personally. Your light might be calibrated enough differently for it to work for you.

- Some people claim riding up the cut marks in the pavement works better (nearer the sensor). Again didn't work for me. Your light might be calibrated enough differently for it to work for you.

Cheers,
woot.
