its hard to describe how it goes on, if you saw a picture you would get it right away. its not hard once you see it and it really only goes on one way.one part hooks under the bracket, the other part loops toward the back side of the bracket attatched to the seat.

It is a bitch to get back on. I can take some hi res pics this evening if you're still having trouble.
Another question: is the rear seat adjustible at all? I had my seat off for the installation of my undertail and when I put the rear seat back on, it looks like there is more of a gap between the bottom of the seat and the top of the plastic tail section.

Here's a shot of mine, if that helps.
Yeah I've been wondering about an adjustment too. Mine's a little higher on the right than the left.
Smack it with a hammer, huh? I'll check it out.
