CBR 929 start up issue
Hello everyone!
Hope this is the correct place for this?
ermm In a nutshell:
- I lost my bike keys two months ago and replaced all lock sets, barrels and ECU, re-coded a new key and it cost a BOMB!! certainly wont be doing that again.....
- Before all this happened I start the bike it would warm up as normal.
- now after getting it back I start the bike and after about 10 - 20 seconds in, it shoots violently up to 4000rpm until it gets to 35 degrees. and gradually comes down to running temperature.
--------
Normally these bikes go up to 2500rpm - 3000rpm when warming up...
Does anyone know the reasons for this? As now it's starting to annoy me and the neighbors :P
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!
Graham.

The key for me is that you said you replaced your ECU. I would start there. If you have the old one, I would throw it back on. Also, I don't know why you would need to replace your ECU for losing your keys. You should have been able to snag a ignition, cap, and trunk set and just installed it all on the bike. I didn't think the 929's were key coded to the ECU. I could be wrong though.
