I need some help! Sold my 2006 cbr1000 and now have my eye on a cbr929rr erion edition with only 5000 miles. Also a 954 that has 7500 miles. I need to know what to expect with bikes this age with low miles. What are the common problems with the 929 and 954 models. I look forward to hear back.

Also has anyone installed the Jesters Trick bits shorty exhaust for the cbr 929/954

 

Both bikes were only made for 2 years. That means finding parts, as with anything that old, may be an issue in the future. Dealers dont carry most stuff in stock anymore and the aftermarket has moved on for the most part. As of today, there are plenty out there but who knows for how much longer. As far as running issues, either should run great as long as they are in good working order.

Ive had 2 929s (1 erion that went 80k with no problems other than 1 r/r) and love them, especially the spacious trunk. I was looking for a 954, but my current 929 fell into my lap with a deal that i couldnt pass up. It couldnt have been more perfect.

Make your choice based on the bike themselves and how they feel and ride to you. You will love either. But if you get the erion, you should think about keeping it original. The limitedness makes them kinda special that way.
