Default Billet upper triple?

I'm looking for a billet upper triple for a 929/954. Who makes one?

Chris

I've seen some pop up on ebay, but who knows if they are Chinese junk that will crack. Any reason you want billet? You could spend a day and polish the one you have with about $30 in sandpaper and a cloth wheel.

Yeah I have seen those as well. I'm not really concerned about them cracking since they are just a bar of aluminum milled on a CNC mill. I'm more concerned with their tolerances (might not be made exactly right).

The reason I'm looking at billet is because I want to drill and tap for handle bar risers and prefer not doing that in a casting.

I have FI risers on my stock upper. No problems in 17k miles You just drill and they bolt into the steel risers from below, and are angled properly for our upper.

Freestyle Ingenuity ::... $99

Or get a billet from hohey, but they are more pricy:

Top Triple Tree F4 / F4i 929 / 954 - $235.00 : HoHey Designs, Custom and Factory Parts for stunt bikes

$235 and doesn't include the risers.

the guys on custom fighters might be able to point you on the right path, or offer to machine you some quality ones...

for the right price of course

Ok after this statement, ill speak from experience. I have this polished:
HONDA CBR 929 00-01 Red Upper Triple Tree-Top Clam12 | eBay

I have had it for 3 years. Not one crack. The only damage was from keys slapping against it. I'm just to lazy to polish it back out. It is slightly lighter, and personally looks better. I should have taken it off and got it powdercoated when I got my rearsets/passanger pegs/swingarm powdercoated though....

Yeah it'll cost you a little over a bill but I think it looks good, and the quality is great....

Well that's good to hear. I couldn't image any problems other than fitment (if it wasn't machined right). But, as Z pointed out:

I want to put risers on and sadly with those notches cut in it, I wouldn't have any place to drill and tap. I wish someone made one like that but just basic and with no frills.

The 954 front end is a common swap into the f4i stunt bike, these are made for constant abuse and many designs available, China doesn't rlly make sunt parts altho they make fake ****ty one finger easy pull clutch levers, Poland and Russia make some but they are big into stunting rest are USA made and probably 5 or 6 to choose from, check out SS motorsports or hohey designs

Hey F4idgaf,
I suspect he may have sorted his issue out by now as the post was from 2011, but good to know
Cheers
Al
