Awful noise from 2000 CBR 929 RR

Hey guys --

Noise started after doing a couple hard pulls on the highway. As I coasted down, heard this awful racket that I immediately thought was a spun bearing. Posted on the 929 Facebook group and they came back thinking it was exhaust gaskets, clutch, or CCT. Pulled clutch cover off and clutch was okay, did exhaust gaskets and noise is still present. Put new oil in it as well.

I am doubting it is a CCT based on the fact that it is non existent at idle, and it occurs a little past 4K. It will occasionally make the sound at idle but only for a couple seconds before going quiet again.

Any ideas? Valves? Should I do the CCT just for kicks?

Thanks.

Sounds bad.... Was there any metal in the oil? Does it sound like it's in the top end or lower in the crankcase?

definitely some flakes but nothing large.. More from the top end, but not entirely positive.

I would be taking off the valve cover and looking for something not as it should be. Same with the plugs and looking at the top of the pistons.

Maybe a dumb suggestion, but could it be the HTEV servo stripping ?
