Default Armor-All on the tires. Yikes!

So, i brought home my new 2000 929 a couple nights ago and the next morning I took it out to play. I was taking it very slow trying to feel it out. When I turned it sort of felt like my rear was sliding out but, at the time, I thought it might just be the inverted forks that I had never experienced before and I wasonly putting around in 1st and 2nd gears. I took a left turn from a dead stop and got up to maybe 10mph and my rear slid out from under me like I hit a grease spot in the road. Luckily the frame slider took most of the rub. I rode it home cautiously and found that the guy I bought it from had caked my tires with armor all! Yep! He basically greased up my tires. True, I should have inspected them better before riding but it was a little wet out so the tires just looked wet to me.

Anyway, does anyone have a sure fire way of removing this crap?
I washedthemwith dish soap and water multiple times and even sanded the tread down a little with some very coarse sand paper but I'm still a little nervous to start leaning on the bike.
Anyone else have a similar experience? Suggestions?
Thanks!

That royally SUCKS that guy needs an *** whooopin.

Since you cleaned them and sanded them i would just find a long straight road (interstate) and get the center's nice and clean then work in lean slowly to be safe.. I get crap on my tires somtimes like wd40 and chain lube and just hit the twisties to clean them off, lol...

If you think theres still some left over armor all try some degreaser on the rubber

Yeah, I was pretty furious. I called him up and warned him to never do that again.

mineral spirits (paint thinner) should do the trick... brakekleen will work as well but i dont know if the alcohol in it will dry out the rubber

Just buy new ones, you're never going to trust those tires again. If you can't trust your tires you're not going to trust your bike and thats when people panic and crash.

Your right, I don't trust my tires right now. I've been riding like a little girl. Maybe some newqualifiers would do the trick.
