Default 929rr wont fire up, but has power?

Been repairing my 929rr that had been sitting for a year due to a minor crash. After replacing the rear wheel, ignition switch, and doing a full oil change all that was left was to replace the dead battery, being as it couldnt hold a charge but would fire up if jumped off. So today i went to the store and bought a new battery, same one as before just new, go to install and try to fire up the bike but nothing. Click click click click... but never fires. Also i dont hear the fuel pump cycling when i turn on the kill switch like it normally does, i hear the fuel pump relay click but no fuel being cycled into the lines. i tried cycling the ignition and checked for any disconnected wiring but there was nothing to be found. everything seems to be in working order besides it not starting

My problem is still persisting after replacing the fuel pump, The bike will not prime by itself, The only way ive gotten it to consistently prime is by taking out the key, starting up my car and connecting jumper cables to the cars battery and my bikes then insert the key and turn on bike and viola it primes and fires then and there. but if i unhook it from the car and try to start it by itself after that then it wont prime, nor fire. Brand new battery, have tried 3 different ones all with the same result. PLEASE HELP

Do you have a voltmeter? Sounds like bad "new" batteries or not a good connection. It would be nice to see how much voltage is really there and what it drops to when you attempt to start it.

Am I correct to understand that the bike runs when it's jumped from the car battery?

I have one, haven't tried testing anything yet though, can do that when I get off work and reply back

But yes the fuel pump primes only when the bike is jumped off via a car, even on a full charged brand new battery's the pump won't prime without jumper cables on the battery.

But does the bike run when you jump it?

Don't assume the "new" battery is fully charged. Not all powersport batteries are charged up off the shelf.

Yes it runs, stays running and runs good, I drove it around for 15 minutes before taking it home and turning it off to see if it start back up on its own. But it didn't.

Ok, that's good. Means everything else is in working order. Now we just gotta get voltage to the starter....

what makes no sense to me is why everything else on the bike has power except the fuel pump. The bike will turn over but doesn't prime the pump unless jumped off via car battery. The battery I have in now is the same exact model I had before just new.

My battery cables look clean and there is good contact so I'm unsure as to why there wouldn't be enough juice to get the pump going

How do I get voltage to the starter? I'm new at bike tinkering but I have the service manual if it's in there

The bike will turn over but doesn't prime the pump

So it turns over on it's own? That's different than "click, click, click."
