929 vs rc-51
#2
I rode my friends RC-51 a few times and they are very cool bikes. He has the sato race pipes on it (full exhaust) and it just sounds amazing. He had dishes in his kitchen rattle off the counter from it idling in the garage. It only weighs about 60lbs more than the 929, but to me it feels much heavier. I also feel more cramped on the RC51, my legs have to bend more, especially in a high-stance. That's rider preference though. They do hold value a little better because they are less common. But really, if I was told to choose between a mint RC51 and a mint 929, I'd take the RC51. Then I'd sell it, buy a 929, and spend the extra on parts.

That's what got my friend so excited, "It's designed for the track!" he yells. I asked him why it's so heavy and why would they put the radiators sideways and then create more turbulence just to get them airflow and he gets real quiet. It's a personality choice. Want to make Harley riders jealous of a real V-twin? Buy the RC-51.
