Default 929 V.S 954

i got ran into a guy who owns a 2002 954. He wants to trade my 929 for his 954, his has about 24k miles and his954 been down and needs some work on the body. My bike is a clean title and his is a salvage and BONE stock.
my bike is 2000 and close 24K miles. I put a lot of work into thebike,I just polished my rims and working on the frame, just replaced stator and stator cover, installed Quill high mount pipe like 2 months ago, K&N filter,i got -1 front and + 2 back sprocket, got intigrater tail light, flush mount front signals, my bike needs paintjob on the upper fairings. But im still thinking aboutthe tradecuz i love 929 better than 954, i think 929 got a better body work and looks nicer. Hows the handlingon a 954 compare to a 929? headsake like 929? power and speed? i know that 929 and 954 got same horsepower. i've never ridden a 954 before but i heard that 929 is a faster and better bike. the only thing i dont like about 929 is the headshake, i dont have 400 bucks to spend on the steering damper. So what do you guys think DEAL or NO DEAL?

**** that man,the 929 are way better bikes, the 54 will only pull away at higher speeds,929 will destroy him in the mid range and in the corners

+1 to what all are saying. I have two friends that have 954's and 3 friends that have 929's and I also have a 929. I will say I am the advanced rider of the bunch and having ridden each of the bikes (all with add-ons), the 929s are far superior. Headshake? Yes. Damper cures that along with some high quality stem bearings and good tire balance.

My 929 slices and dices through the twisties. The right suspension, brakes, power delivery, ok, I'll stop....sorry.

the 954 is very fun, i love it now. a real good friend has a 929 and i have been on it plenty of times. my personal opinion is it boils down to u, they changed the 954 quite a bit from the 929 but if its made by honda and uses the letters "cbr" then its gonna be a big hit to me. i originally wanted the 929 and just so happen to get the 954, also my buddy wanted the 954 and ended up wit a 929. the 929 is a lil more comfortable as far as riding but to me its just a tad bit short as far as power comparing to the 954. its all up to u, u started wit a project bike and ur almost done so keep the 929 cuz at the end u can say i got this bike that looked like trash and now i did everything i wanted to it. u make the choice dont let us tell u any different!

what he said, and if you made the trade and wanted to sell the bike in the future, you'ld have to work that much harder!
