Question 929 Trunk

Hi everyone, I'm just curious about the trunk on my 929. I just bought it so I've been looking for ways to mod it a little and I like the electronic release, however mine doesn't stay up. Is it supposed to? I've been thinking about putting a small cylinder in there like toppers use to hold it up since I can't figure out how to mount a spring. Any other ideas? I tried searching, but couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance.
Edit to add- If you have any pics of how you did it that would be great! Thanks

he's using a door lock actuator - better choice would be a trunk release solenoid.

Mine is spring loaded. I am not sure what the stock setup is. I attached a picture of the spring.

If its not springing open it sounds like you need to check your hardware or replace your spring. It is key turn with a spring loaded seat. Me personally that push button is unnecessary. A key works fine.

Thanks everyone. I don't mind using the key, but half the time I already turned the key on so then I have to shut it off and then pop it. Or I have it warming up and then I have to shut it off just to open it. $30 and 30 minutes of my time for making life easier is well worth it in my book.

I've already bought the components, just waiting for them to arrive to start my mod. JacobAndrew, I have those exact same problems, and because my undertail is custom, I also have to almost get down on my knee or put my face next to the tailpipe in order to get the key in the lock. So, Im going to enjoy this mod, no doubt
