Congrats on getting the 929. You won't be disappointed.
Not a dumb question unless you've only been riding for a few months and ask howto stunt on the freeway right away. I'm no expert on this, but if you check the past threads, I think you may find that this is doable...

I don't know about it either, but if it can't I am bringing my bike to the shop to bring it back to stock height and I could sell you the parts for cheap...it's going to the shop Saturday and I will know what parts I am giving up by Monday or Tuesday next week. I love the look of the low bike, but being 6'3", I can't ride it that comfortably.

First of all, thanks for all the help... and skubysnak..... love the sn.
Yeah i know the dog bones are compatible.... ive been doing A LOT of reseach since i got the bike my only concern was the lowering of the front end, so that i dont throw off the geometry of the bike. Thats more of where i was trying to figure out the 929 954 ordeal. Anyone got any tips on that aspect????
Thanks so much.... in advance!

well lowering the front is just a matter of sliding the fork tubes up into the tripple tree thus lowering the front end.
raise them to high and the turn in will be much quicker and a stronger chance of bottoming the bike out.
if dont raise them enough the front will have a much slower turn in and the bike will look like the rear is sagging.
lowering a motorcycle will thus lower its center of gravity making it feel more stable but you will lose some cornering ability, i personally have never leaned that far over for mine to be affected.

"swap forks" what? im not sure what you meant by that, you dont have to swap the forks to lower the bike. you just have to raise to the tubes up into the tripple tree thus lowering the front end. the lowering link will lower the rear.
am i missing something here?
if this isnt a permanent thing for you, you should invest in an adjustable kickstand, i cut mine down and rewelded a foot onto it.

maybe i missunderstood him. some people will shorten the forks for drag racing. i know all you have to do is raise or lower them in the trees. but one of his questions was can you swap the suspension on the two bikes. my answer was yes.
