Default 2000 929 ram air questions

I fightered my 929 a couple of weeks ago and decided to leave th RAM air tubes cuz I felt like I lost some mid an high end power when removing them. Recently I had to take them off since I shifted my clip-ons to a lower position. I feel like th bike runs fine without th tubes. So my question is, does removing th RAM air tubes actually affect performance?

i dont know for sure, i've never done it. but since you have, you tell us!

let's think about it...
i dont think the 929 has a "ram" air system like the f4i does. the air gets picked up inside the cowling in the front then goes through the tubes to the air box. the pick up opening is not open too the front of the bike. a ram air system, like the f4i, have open scoops for air at the front. when you removed your fairings, you created the ram air effect and probably will force more air into the motor than it is designed to handle, causing a super lean condition at speed. that explains the power loss and high end. if your going to run it that way, maybe try a PC and a custom map to give it more fuel mid to high. might even run better.....

I do have a PC. I haven't really "ran" it to determine th difference if any. In another forum they claim it makes no difference but I beg to differ. Jus like putting a hi flo air filter gives a lean mixture, so can removing th intake tubes on a streetfighter but I'll have to drive it more to really determine what's going on. If I have to map it to run richer at mid an high rpms I will. That should cause an increase in power I would think.

crazie, just one question.. kind of off topic.. do you forget that "the" is spelt "the" and not "th" some of the times or is that a new fad?

So you shorten "the" to "th" and "just" to "jus" because it is lengthy. BUT you write out "difference" "determine" "streetfighter" and "increase".

Kids these days and their touchscreen phones and faddish improvisation while typing. SMDH.

Im jus bustn ur balz. :-)
