01 F4i Body Kit for 01 CBR929 Fireblade

Hi,

Does anyone know if its possible or heard of some way of installing a body kit of an 01 Honda CBR600 F4i on an 01 CBR929RR Fireblade? I love the look of the F4i front cowl and rear tail and wish to replicate my fathers 01 F4i, but have the bigger 929 engine. Thanks -pPig

That's a cool swap, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you might be the first one to attempt it, so we won't know until you try. It could be super easy, or mind-numbingly difficult, depending on whether you opt to swap out the whole front-end, seat, side panels, and all the associated mounting points/hardware. It'll take money, time, and a bit of skill/creativity, but you can really make almost anything you want out of plastic once you get good at structural repair. What's your comfort/commitment level?

I'd advise starting with cheaper race plastics, don't cut apart the OEM stuff if you can avoid it. Plus then if it goes badly, you can put the old plastic on and be just fine. If the kit's fibreglass then you have a lot of options for repair, and can use bondo/polyester putty for finishing, with high-build primer for extra buttery smoothness. ABS is a bit trickier, and requires flexible repair compounds or ABS welding, but I like working with it better
