Angry 01 erion racing series

bike runs for about 10 to 15 min.(at idle)and completely dies.I recharge
the battery and restart, same thing happens.Have new battery, regulator
and stator. Each time i restarted the bike the battery was at full charge.
When the bike shut down the battery was completely drained. My funds are
running low do to the parts i already bought.Could somebody help me or steer
me in the right direction.
thanks

Default i wish i couuld......

i wish i could offer you a bit more but it sounds like you have covered the parts except for maybe a bad ground or a bad connection.

my bike would do the same thing as your describing and it turned out it was a bad stator, replaced the stator and what do you know the problem stopped.

since you have bought all these new parts and im assuming you installed them already did you install the new battery last because if not something may have killed your new battery
(probally not likely though)

but to me it sounds like for some reason that your stator or regulator rectifier is not allowing your battery to receive a charge, if you did it yourself are you sure you have it hooked up properly?

did you do the proper volt meter test?

i forgot to mention that my erion is now on its 3rd stator the first oem died prematurely and the second i got from electomotorsports.com and it wasnt a direct replacement and burnt out in like less than 1500 miles, now the one in it now came from some company out of Florida which was a direct replacement, i think it was a Rick's or something like that. but it could be that your new stator maybe bad and that was what was wrong with my second one, poor manufacturing so they refunded me my money, actually they offered me a replacement and i said why would i want another piece of faulty equipment as replacement?

Default was it

was it a direct replacement with the male to female connectors or did you have to cut splice and soder the new wire to your old harness and yes if that was the case you could have hooked it up wrong

thanks for the info.i think i might be stator shopping.but do you
think if the stator was bad the fully charged battery would die that
quick just on idol?

im not sure if it would just die that fast but mine would die within 30 minutes so its questionable.

one thing you can do is hook it up to a car battery (car NOT running of course) and start the bike and let it run for 15 minutes or how ever long it usually does and then reconnect the motorcycle battery and start it and see if it dies in the normal 15 minutes you say happens. just make sure your motorcycle battery is fully charged to isolate if its a charging issue or not you can actually leave the motorcycle battery in the bike and connect the two batteries via jumper cables and then disconnect after 15 minutes and see how long it takes the battery to die.
