01 929RR won't start, ideas please...
Hey guys, I just picked up an 01 929RR with 5700 miles on it for $1700. Its scuffed up a bit but nothing too bad. When I went to look at it, it had trouble starting without giving it any throttle. After I gave it a bit of throttle it started, but then shut off. I figured this was due to a clogged up fuel system and bad gas since the boy had let it sit for a few months and didn't run it. When I got it home I took the gas tank off to drain the fuel, it smelled like bad gas. I noticed the air box was incredibly loose. I picked up on it and saw that the throttle bodies weren't seated in the rubber grommets that connect them to the intake. So of course I seated them and tightened the clamps. I just got the tank primered white and bolted everything back up, and it still won't start. Will bad gas make a bike not start or just make it runl like ****? How do I go about cleaning my fuel system out? Also, what else could it be?? I can hear the fuel pump switch on and it just cranks but won't fire. Could spark plugs that aren't gapped properly cause it not to start? Thanks in advance everybody.

make sure the battery is properly charged. If its not the alternator can't recharge the battery fast enough and provide enough power to run the lights and fuel system. So the bike looks to the battery for its power but it does have much so it can't support the fuel injection. The the battery first.
