sorry folks, I tried the search button but I didn't get the answer I needed. I just got this bike and rode it the other day for the first in the streets(just got it tagged). I put in premium gas just to be safe, but which gas is preferred? thanks in advance

What about octane boosters. Ive used them in my truck and in my threewheeler. I could tell a big difference in the three wheeler. Will it hurt the bike? And have you ever heard of a moth ball boosting your octane?

You'll get as many varying opinions on this subject as there are threads on it but imho just do what the owners manual states .. dunno about the 929 but my 954 manual states it requires 87 and that's what I've been using on it since day one without a single problem. Just did a 4000 mile trip cross country using only 87 and no hiccups .. smooth like butta.

Experts give reasons why/how it ignites faster using whatever is recommended .. I can't go into all that, all I can say is from experience I've had no issues using what is recommended in manual in all my bikes.

Yes the last post is correct. Only uninformed people think "high performance" gas has to be used in "high performance" vehicles,..hee hee hee. Maybe that theory is generated by oil company stock holders,? Also look up the word placebo.

Do what the manual saids. If you don't believe me go buy a Subaru WRX and run the ole 87 octane in it and find out what happens.
