RE: What octane do you run in your 900RR?
Heres somethin i found from a previous post.
"sportbikes (unless compression is raised) are optimized on about 87-89 octane. Just going off that article you posted, that stuff will raise your octane up a good bit higher than that so if your using 93 octane, you'll wind up with somewhere in the neighborhood of 96 octane; on a bike that works best on 87-89... Almost all of my local gas stations are starting to use up to 10% ethanol in all grades. I have heard some people talk good about it and others talk bad. What do you guys think about it? Hell in my cars owners manual it tells you that you should'n use ethanol or methanol mixes.

We have got the choice between 92, 95 and some places 98 in Denmark. 98 is getting rare, but I always use 95.
And you b***** dare complayning about prices, I pay 2.17 USD for a liter of 95 unleaded.
Thats 8.22USD pr. GALLON .... NIIIIIIIIICE

Yeah, basically, if I THINK it's better to run premium unleaded, then all that positive energy goes straight into the gas tank along with the 91 octane and voila--it IS better. Same with full synthetic--if it's better in my mind, then it works better in reality...

Theres about to be a third 900rrwhen i get back from afghanistan in july.
From what ive been told about the gas is that lower octane gas actually creates more horsepower than higher octane gas. and that u wont notice much differnce between the two, higher octane gas has more of an effect on cars because they have the knock sensors. Some one on this site told me about that a while back. i cant remember who it was though.
