what kind of tires?
I would like to know what kind of tires I should get. I have been looking around, and i just don't know what to get. I had pilot powers on and i didn't get very good wear on it. I think that because we have no corners in Northern MN, that i should expect some wearing like this, but i also believe" the tire was to soft for the "commuting" that i do. I probably pushed this one farther that i should have, but there are so many tire options I have been hesitant on ordering. now with winter comming fast I am conflicted to put a new tire on it fast, or put it away for the winter. i am not looking for top of the line, just something that will give me good grip, and wear better than my last.

RE: what kind of tires?
Most of us get into this track oriented syndrome and go for a track base tire. Its a question of how regularly we hit the twisties or even the track itself. Don't get me wrong but this soft tires are pretty good and really hold up but its useless on mileage. The 900 is heavier than a 600 or 1000 so the result is more worse.
I just get a bridgestone bt021; a sport touring tire with dual compound where the center is harder and the edge is kinda soft. I have to give it a thumbs up; cause it's easier to lean and I know it can last long too.

RE: what kind of tires?
I might be the only guy on here who will adamantly support them, but I am in love with my Dunlop D208's Sportmax'. The traction is awesome and the wear is exceptional. I have put about 4K on my tires over the last two summers (I know, I don't ride enough) and I still think I have at least 50% tread. Now, I am not the type who ever does a burn out or power slides through the corners, but I hit a lot of twisty roads and as far as I can tell the tires wear very evenly. I always get a smile on my face when I ride those first few miles and can clearly feel a difference in traction as the tires heat and become sticky, that will never get old for me. Any of the tires listed here will be great, just find the best deal and your good. Oh, and if you just commute you might want to consider the OEM Bridgestones. I am sure they will offer the superior wear because they are a heavier compund not necassarily meant for high performance riding.
