Rev Meter, Speedo temp gauge not working
Hi,
I just changed the CDi and rectifier for my 99 model CBR 900RR which had gone bad cos the guy i bought the bike off was running high output headlamps etc. Well after changing these two parts, and putting in a new battery, the Rev meter, the speedometer, temp gauge and odometer is not working. What could be the reason for this? Pls help. i Havent taken this bike for the ride cos i cannot be sure of the temperature and if all electrical is ok. Anyone has a solution to my problem????

RE: Rev Meter, Speedo temp gauge not working
yes i have doubly checked the fuses... its ok... i also was thinking of the CDI. I got it off Victorian Motorcycle Wreckers and it was second hand. Numbers on the old CDI were as folllows:
MASG EC
971U
9514
Numbers on the new CDI are
MASG EC
971U
8928.
So can anyone confirm if its the CDI or what guys?
Also initially when my bike went off at 180kmph initially with the old CDI and rectifier and stalled to a dead stop, i could hear a continuous beep but cant make out where it came from. and bike didn't start after trying to jumper. it fired once and then went dead. then my friends decided to wrap a wire around a blown out fuse and friend the power pack so here i am cos no one here knows what happened, not even an auto electrician...
Urgent help needed.
