Default r/r issue 97 900rr

97 900rr
i just bought a brand new r/r. the plug was burnt so i bought a plug to replace it. i cut all the wires at once and the negative pole from the battery was touching the wire which i didn't catch so i shocked the shi$ out of me .. but anyways. i wired it all back up and now nothing turns on and bike doesn't work. i checked all the fuses and they're good. just wondering what the problem could be. did i fry the r/r? how do i check if it's still running power or not? the battery still has power. but like i said no lights or indicaters work and engine doesn't event start to turn over. basically a dead bike. help please.

Check all the fuses. There are a few fuses not in the box. The bike should still start on a charged battery, even if the charging system was fried. When you cut the wires together, you shorted the power wire to ground via the cutters.

If you have no power to anything, check the 30a main fuse. The power to the fuse box goes through it.

Isn't that right next to the r/r? At least it is on my 99. How could you miss it? Not trying to be a $#@!, just wondering.
