RE: Pics of my 900RR.....56k warning
Thanks all I appreciate the nice comments. Mine is a 95 and there was no major modifications necessary to put the newer plastics on it. The only place it doesn't fit perfect is on the underside by the exhaust. It's not that bad though. I had to trim it alittle to clear the exhaust, but other then that there are no fittment issues. I have seen the 93's upgraded to the newer plastics, and I know that is alittle more involved. The 93's still had the dual round headlights. So i'm not too sure what needs to be done to swap that over.

I had a friend who had a 93, and he did that conversion..obviously you need the upper, upper fairing main stay, the mirror support is different, the headlights and I believe the gauges??
He actually had a 96 motor and did it all, the electrics, gauges, ect..and since the speedo was now driven off the countershaft sprocket he could run a 17" front wheel ( off a 94 VFR750) and brake discs. That gave him much better selection and availability for tires.
He had a red/wht/blue version and had the upper painted to match. It was real sharp!!
I keep saying "he had" since he was killed in '99 when a car turned left in front of him. Him and his friend had switched passengers, so his wife was riding with the friend and the friend's fiance was riding with him. So they both had front row seats to thier other half's demise. He died in his wifes arms and the fiance was found about 15 minutes later. She died instantly. It was a small pickup with a camper shell and the fiance took the camper shell off the truck with her body and no one could find her at first. the whole scene looked like a bomb had gone off. The bike basically shattered like a glass when it impacted the truck.
But enough of all that...
The conversion can be done
