Question No rectifier harness....

Ok so I just replaced my R/R and since the old harness plug was completely scorched, I reconnected the new one with spade terminals directly into the R/R. Shes running and charging perfectly. My question is what do you guys think would be a good way to seal it so water cant get up in there and short it out? I was thinking a heat resistant silicone but for some reason I feel like I remember reading somewhere that was not a good idea. I can't think why that would be bad but just figired I would run by here and see what you all say. Thanks.

I squirted silicon into mine - no problem
Let it dry completely before you use it.

I used liquid electrical tape. It just seemed like.the right thing to use. I have gone on long rides and haven't had a problem yet.
