I am new to the forums and I have a 98 CBR 900RR that I'm currently thinking of doing a rebuild/restore this winter and I'm looking for advice and suggestions on my thoughts..
I'm thinking of boring out my motor, adding a aftermarket mild/hot Cam and changing bearings and seals and then rebuilding the transmission, considering a Kevlar clutch too.
Has anyone done this before and where's some good places to get the aftermarket parts from for something like this and what kind of issues can I plan on running into? Any and all information is a good start into making this monster..

If it runs good, leave it alone. Do the maintenance and service. Upgrade the suspension & get good tires. Not sure when 900 went to 17" front wheel so if you dont have the 17 incher, do that modification. Dont bore the engine just for the fun of it. If something happens afterward and you'd need to bore it out even more because of a scared cylinder there might not be enough meat left and cylinder wall would be thin. Clean the carbs. Lubricate suspension pivot points.

My 1994 893 'Blade is bog standard and absolutely flies, with no flat spots, it'll pull strongly from 30mph in 6th with no spluttering or hesitation.
If I was modding mine, all the money would go on improving the suspension and brakes as they do feel dated.
If you want something quicker, it would be easier (and cheaper) to buy a newer, quicker bike.
