little confused
First off. New guy here so I'll introduce myself. Names paul and just got a 96 cbr900. Got it for free from a guy whose truck I work on a lot at my job. He said he was getting to old for it and it sat for about 4 years and he couldn't figure out how to get her back up and running. So.... it found its way to my garage.
Anyway, tweaked with the mixture screw and cleaned the jets about a week ago. Didnt fire on fuel or ether, at that, so I'm going to pick up some plugs this week and i think it'll fire up. Bike only has 4700 miles on it.
I just have a few questions if someone could help whose been around these bikes longer than me. I have two lines running up to my tank. ones the fuel line and the other is a smaller one running from the back of the motor under the #4 carb. my tank has 4 nipples on it so two are empty with nothing running from them it has a vacuum and a fuel line from the petcock and 2 others just right on the bottom of the tank. I also have no fuel pump???? is there a pump on these bikes? any help would be appreciated so I can move along on this project.
I have pictures but I can't figure out how to get them on here

Welcome to the CBR Forum Paul,
The smaller pipe is usually a vacuum - to open the petcock under negative pressure. Well it is on the CBR1000F Mk2. Have a look in the How To/Workshop manuals thread, you might find a downloadable manual for your bike there.
And until you've got a few posts under your belt on the forum, you can't post pictures. Unless you use the link system from Photobucket or similar.
Cheers, SB

To make your life easier here is a download for the Repair manual. I've downloaded it without any problems (no viruses, etc) hope it helps out with your rebuild. Good luck!
