Hello,
My CBR 900 SC33 1997 started making this intermittent ticking noise when cold and always after throttle release. I don't have any other noises and the noise disappears when warmed up and it pulls aggressively and like it should so no performance issues here. has anyone had this issue before and what could be the problem ?

The rattle lasts for a short time and is metallic with a high pitch. I also have tested the oil pressure and everything seems fine, motorcycle did a 125km long trip after this sound appeared and the performance is unaffected and performs normal.

 

sounds like spark or exhaust leak to me

 

Not the cam chain adjuster is it? Mine seemed almost random when it 'ticked' but a new one sorted it out.
