The bike runs well, except when doing a cold start, I give it a little choke and hit the starter button and it fires, i shut the choke off and it acts like it is still being choked. if i let it just sit and idle for awhile it will go away. .. The plugs are wet when I pull them during the symptoms. So I believe something in the choke system is sticking or plugged. So I am going through the carbs.. Anything else to check for while I am in there?

I would like some that are already the color I want, If I have to have them painted I am going to source my options. If I have to, I have my "old" set to practice on. I have painted many a items, but never bike fairings, and I want them to turn out.

I certainly agree, looks last. Was just looking around this site at the bikes and dreaming- haha

Gotta get this thing confidently purring, then my next focus will be getting the suspension and bearings all up to par.

thanks for the comments estate, words of wisdom. Things get expensive fast.

Tore into it, got the carbs cleaned, new plugs, new fuel lines, filter, etc. runs much smoother through the range now, and no more chugging out.

the only piece of plastic not salvagable on this bike is the headlight fairing, but I cannot find one anywhere for the round lights.

I did some searching the see if the 95+ would fit without changing the other plastics, but cant really find a definate answer. Its an expensive experiment so Id rather know.

Also need the mirror stay/bracket, another thing I cannot seem to source. Will probly end up welding up and making something.

also managed to blow the packing out of the two brothers exhaust... So repacking that is in order as well.

Yeah, I saw those. I researched them a bit and they have poor reviews.

Talking

Be patience, eBay is a place of opportunity. One mans junk is another mans treasures. Last thing you want is to buy one item today, then tomorrow you find one in better shape 1/2 the price.

I've seen dual headlight upper fairing for $75 shipped...Vance & Hines slip on $50 (which i purchased as a spare pipe) I've seen those mirror stay for $30....I myself purchased the aluminum ones for $45 shipped...then taken my old one down and sold for $50.

When you search eBay, once every other day, search Newly Listed....once in a while, a good deal pop up...no one bidding...

Also don't forget about your body, you need gears to protect....jacket, gloves, boots....I'm all for gears because bike parts can be replace, no body part...
