On my way to work a 07 cbr 600rr pulled up, revved once, dropped 2 gears and took off. I look all around, seen no cop, and just added some throttle. Next thing I knew, I was passing him. He kept trying to but didnt win... LMAO!!! Felt a little sorry for him... Funniest thing is that I didn't even have to shift to catch him!!!

Anyone else try anything like that???

 

I wish. Along with putting roughly 10K miles onto my 900rr(58K total), she had sat for a long time. And every time it seems I get her dialed in, something else is needing to be replaced. But it's due to wear and tear really. I rode in yesterday to work and before heading home had replaced the rear wheel bearings. Got 'em cheap though.

My friend had a 600rr and always wants to ride my bike. And when he gets back he compliments my bike so much...So, it really seems worth it then

 

agreed. and i know what you mean about parts... i still have the 16 inch front wheel and was lucky enough to find a new 130/70r16 for $20+$40 for install close by.

I have 54000 km on mine and it had 99.6 rwhp last time it dyno'd. Have only had to replace the fuel pump.

 

To be honest I think I'm just a lil scared perhaps of looking like a moron on a old bike...

I guess I'm just still a little new to all of this. Even though the second I got on that bike it seems like you're in a new club all of the sudden.
And with that said...
I was on my way home yesterday and looked to the right of me and there was a older Kawasaki 1100 next to me. I thought of this thread instantly. Then the guy nods and drops 2 gears and starts to go. I looked and felt traffic was just far too heavy at the moment. It was rush hour after all. But the second I saw his foot click down I wanted to go so bad. I got home and did some research on the 1100 and am 90% sure I could have easily taken him down.

 

Did you do the bearings yourself? Just curious. I just did all new bearings (front/rear/steering) on mine a month ago and it is a bear of a job.

 

Well, my little girl is a '93. Engine re-build 4 months ago... hehehe. I 'NOW" have 3 sets of sprockets and a few chains, so I can choose my ride. To school/fast or to The other side of Texas/lower. I'm about to tear her down and do paint and a LOT OF LIGHTS. I did get walked by a NEW cbr1000rr..... Duh but the kid couldnt turn a corner,

Yes, without having actually popped them out myself. I only did the 2 wheel bearings due to lack of time. But, I thought it was rather simple. And I'm far from being a mechanic.

And Chain and Sprocket are coming soon too.
