Fuel Warning Light

Hi All..

I apologise in advance if this question was asked before and the fact that its a stupid question but , for the record, I have searched first...so does the 99 model CBR 919 have a "low fuel warning light"? :icon_doh:(dont have an owners manual either)

Reason I asked is I ran out of fuel today and was mocked by guys on scooters as I pushed my baby to the fuel station!

Thanks for taking the time to help!
Cherio!

lmao no they don't, they have a reserve switch on the petcock... were you already on reserve?

Ah...figured so, yes was on reserve but when I got the bike I was riding a little too hard so depleted my fuel too fast! Lucky for my wallet I have calmed down a touch ;0

How hard of a modifcation is it to install an aftermarket warning light or even a fuel gauge?

resett your tripometer, fill with gas, and set fuel switch to ON... ride it until you run out of gas. When it does, look at the milage on the tripometer, flip the switch to reserve, drive to gas station, fill up with gas, set fuel switch back to ON, reset tripometer... then when your tripometer starts getting close to the milage you last ran out of gas, go to a gas station. Then you won't have to flip between On and RESERVE anymore but you need to reset your tripometer every time you gas up.
