Fuel Tank issues!
 

I recently took my tank off my 1998 cbr 900rr and stupidly forgot how to put it back. I have the general idea, but I have some extra bolts.
Any help would be great.

Hmm, not sure on the 900rr, on my 98600f3 I only have 2 bolts, 1 at front and 1 at the rear of tank. 3 hoses fuel, over-flow and vent. That's it.

The 900rr should only have 2 bolts, one front & back of the tank. Check out this site, look up the fuel tank specs should give an idea.

My 900rr has one at the back of the fuel tank (bolts to the subframe under the seat) and two at the front that also mount the upper fairing stay...

Yea i did forget some years have that dual bolt in the front for the stay, mine doesn't. But even at that, your looking at 3 bolts, should be pretty obvious where they go. Sure you didn't take anything else off while the tank was off?

i have a side question.. sorry, but the hoses under the tank..i seem to only have one for fuel... does the other two nipples need ot have hoses going somewehre on them?

Smaller one is an overflow/drainage line, just run a small hose down & out under the bike. The other is supposed to goto the carbs (i think) still looking into that myself, min isn't hooked up either

The larger of the 2 is the over-fill drain, the smaller is an air vent for hot day expansion of the gasoline. Don't have to have hoses on either to work, but it keeps things neater/cleaner and a potential ignition source away from the rider.

Wow, thanks guys. I figures out how to mount it again, but my next question was about the tubes also. I only had one for the fuel and that was it. Now I am good to go. Thanks for all the help!

whar are the extra hoses down in my 900rr i was cheking the bike and one is from cooling sistem and the other one look it come from the fuel thank they both go all the way down,thanks,im wonder if is normal or need to conect somewhere,is my first bike so.is 1998 900rr thank.
