Default Fellow riders I need Help "96 900RR"

I HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM.... When I pull the choke to start the bike it starts up fine. I will let it run for a few minutes and then release the choke the bike will then shut off. I think it has something to do with the throttle control. If that is the problem do I turn it clock wise or counter clock wise to adjust it. It can be something elseā€¦ Any suggestions!!! It is a 96 900rr!!!!

Check the idle.........clock wise will raise it.........but it sounds like it's running lean for some reason......if it runs with the choke on but dies with it off, you are getting too much air. The idle jets clogged? Can you give it throttle to keep it running? Probably not, but just thought I would ask.

Pull the pulgs first.. If there ok you have a carb problem turn the **** clock wise little at a time se if it stays running. You should never choke a 900 for more then 15-30 seconds tho.. You should pull the choke just to get it going then push it in and give a little twist of the throttle to keep it running till it warms up then just let it run. Thats one way or choke it shut off the choke twist the throttle and turn the set **** up alittle till it warms ups then turn it down thats what i do. if you choke it for to long the bike will foul the plugs alot and **** you off all day long.

Idle jets clogged, what gixxereater said.

I had the same exact problem happen two years ago. Just pull the carbs and go to town with the carb cleaner. Pressurized air is also a big help.
