Yea i have to disagree with you,for the 98-99 you have to cut your gauge harness and rewire. So for some people wiring is not there cup of tea.But the 96-97 to me is very simple,no cutting, you get to keep your orignal gauges intact. Now the pre 96 900rr will have to get a different sprocket cover, but same deal with wiring,no cutting involved, just swap plastic connectors, thats it.

Yes you will need temp sensor,i received mine today and it fixed the temp reading and red/oil symbol on the f4i gauges,no more red light!!I have included some pics of install and tomorrow will order my speedo healer, done deal.Oh and dont forget to put teflon tape or pipe paste on threads of sensor, you dont want any sneaky leaks!!

Also i had issue with the carbs,so it was good i had to remove, cause the thermo sensor was in easy reach.Cleaned and tuned carbs, just need to test ride. The 900 was falling on her face at 9 grand in all gears. Then i found it had a factory jet kit with filter mod(picked up 900 2 months ago)!!The jet kit was to much for stock motor, will see how it runs with air box mod and different jet kit.

Again anybody need help with f4i mod,hit me up,its a great mod!!!

It lights itself. It is reverse illumiglo. SRP usually charges $100 for a kit but mine was more because it was a one off production.

Hmm. Cool but a little pricey for me. Paid less for the guages.

Plus the amber matches my bike already. (Lucky I guess)

Like to see it when your done though.

You had to get them before it became 'cool'.

I got mine locally, in a bunch of other tid bits, little over $100 for the lot of parts.

Almost done doing this mod(late to the party I know). and I have everything working except the speedo. As my bike is an 1993 I had to install the c/shaft driven speed sensor. However there are 3 wires coming from the sensor: pink which I know goes to the gauge cluster and I believe the green to be a ground. The black I suspect would need a 5 volt reference voltage. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks!!
