electrical problem...got a 98-99 you can help..
Ok I installed my new wiring harness, I've upgraded from a 93 to a 98, and I'm running into some troubles. The bike will not start/turn over. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the fact that my original (93) wiring harness had two connector coming from the right clip-on. A small 2p(2-pin) connector which is just fine. Now for the problem, the other connector is a 6p(6-pin), and my original clip-on wiring has 5 wires going into that 6p connector(as shown in pic#1). The new 98-99 wiring harness only has 3 wires going into that same 6p connector (as shown in pic#2).
Can any of you guys with 98-99 bikes run out and check your RED connector under the fuse panel and see if the lower half/wiring harness side of the connection has 5 or 3 wires like mine? I purchased the wiring harness from a guy in Europe, I'm wondering if the European vs. USA wiring harnesses are different. If not, I'm wondering if the previous owner did like a race mod to the wiring harness or something. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
