Default cdi burn

one weekend ago i go to morelia, check the bike and see that at 5k rpm the battery charge about 18votls but i thing the multimeter was abad reading (my mistake) well later i go driving for about 3 hours from mexico city to track day, everything goes fine, in the track too but when i try to start the bike for back home, the battery was dead i see there is no acid on battery so refill and bike start

because this i disconnect lights for make charge fast but at 2 hours of trip the bike dead, check fuses and one was bad i chanche it but nothing, take off the seat turn the ignition on no start

and sorprise hehehe the cdi make a sound like burn and then i see smoke, little but from the cdi, take off and yes, the cdi was burn

i already buy it one, waiting for shipping but am affraid, what i have check for make sure there is no other thing bad? i have a new regulator by the way, and jet kit hehehe

No problem man, nice to see this bike is getting appreciation all around. You might want to double check the related wires, and perhaps the stator? I am really not very sure, but I'm sure someone who knows more than I will be in shortly to help you out. Ride safe man.

nop, this is the sound when the battery is dead, but my bike dont make that sound, dont do anything well when i see the smoke turn off the switch and take off the cdi, no more attempt to start again

maƱana pongo fotos del cdi la moto no hace nada ya q se lo quite, esta de hecho como derretido de un lado iba bien y de pronto se apago siguio andando por la velocidad pero nada mas

the bike is running again, check for shorts all look fine and change cdi yesterday, bike start without problem
but is still charging 18's at 4k rpm so am looking for a regulator for change it too


one question, the green cable is just ground? can i connect direct to negative battery terminal?
