I have a 1997 CBR 900 and I want to put on a 1999 Rear cowel and basically replace what I have.
The dealer tells me it won't fit. Does anyone knows if this is possible

 

The threads on the subframes are in the same locations for mounting. You need a complete assembly though (four fairing pieces and taillight). Also, you might have to ditch your "trunk"... not sure if the lock assemblies are the same. The 1997 seats will still bolt up though. Have fun!

 

Hey guys the seat will mount from 93-99 but the size of the seat is way different I just got the right seat for my bike. I bought a seat on ebay and the guy said his bike was a 96. He failed to mention that the seat was after he converted his bike to a 98-99. But they do mount right onto the bike no matter what year they just don't look like they match at all.
